This magnificent piece is a complete South Indian temple mandap โ four fluted classical pillars rising from an ornate square base, supporting a pointed arch adorned with lotus petal carvings, leading the eye upward to a magnificent multi-tiered ribbed dome crowned with a delicate finial. Each pillar is accented with a teardrop ruby cabochon, while a continuous ring of ruby red gemstones encircles the dome at its base like a sacred crown of fire.
At the sacred heart of the mandap, Goddess Lakshmi is enshrined in serene divine grace โ four-armed, seated on her lotus throne, holding lotus blossoms, her halo bearing the sacred Swastika symbol of infinite auspiciousness (visible from the back). Her lotus pedestal is lined with a full row of ruby cabochon gems.
